Ian Craig
Ian Craig BSc MSc INLPTA ILM is a passionate educator and practitioner in the fields of sport, nutrition and health.
With his joint academic backgrounds in exercise physiology and nutritional therapy, and a 20-year career as a British middle-distance athlete, he has been developing the concept of integrative sports nutrition since 2007; a fast-evolving discipline that considers both the health and performance of an athlete, from an integrative health perspective.
Clinically, Ian works with a large array of sports and exercise cases, plus complex health imbalances such as autoimmunity, chronic gastrointestinal issues, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, all of which are rapidly increasing in incidence, especially in the sporting world. To provide a complete immersion within the lifestyle, behavioural and belief changes necessary to improve the health of his clients, Ian works with a core team of talented practitioners, who collectively practice nutritional, exercise and psychological coaching, natural cookery, and integrative medicine.
Educationally, Ian is the author of the Struik Lifestyle book Wholesome Nutrition, editor of Functional Sports Nutrition magazine, and founder of the Centre for Integrative Sports Nutrition; the world’s first educational platform to train sports nutrition practitioners in a functional way of thinking and practicing.
Ian is a professional member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).
